What it does #
Trip Match scores the fit between your background and your target trip: country, purpose, budget, and the practical constraints that apply to your kind of travel. It returns a 0 to 100 score with strengths, weaknesses, recommended alternatives, and a step-by-step action plan. If you have a prior visa refusal, it makes you record the details, because a refusal changes what a strong application needs.
The form and the scoring both branch on your traveler type. A student is asked about education level, field of study and intake; a business traveler is asked about the host organization, the invitation letter and who covers the costs; a medical traveler about the treating facility and the appointment letter. The action plan you get back follows the same rule, so a business trip is never told to draft a statement of purpose.
What you need before using it #
Your name, where you are applying from, and where you are going. After that it depends on your traveler type: a student needs their academic facts (education level, field of study, degree level), a business traveler needs their host and invitation status, a tourist needs travel dates and an itinerary. Prior refusal details if any: country, date, visa type, main reason, and what has changed since.
Using it #
- Open Trip Match in the workspace.
- Choose your traveler type. The rest of the form changes to match it.
- Complete the form. If you select a prior refusal, the refusal block becomes required.
- Select Run scan for the instant rule-based result. It stays disabled, and names what is missing, until the required fields for your type are filled.
- Optionally select AI review to send the same form to an AI reviewer and get a second opinion alongside the rule-based one.
Understanding your results #
The baseline score is deterministic: the same inputs always give the same score, computed from transparent rules with no AI involved. Every traveler type is scored on the same scale, so the numbers are comparable. Treat the score as a preparation signal, not an approval prediction. The alternatives list matters when the fit is weak; sometimes the honest advice is a different route, not a better essay.
